Learn how the 2026 AMRC Boat Hire system works
About 2026 AMRC Boat Hire
The 2026 AMRC Boat Hire system connects interstate rowers with Perth rowing clubs for the 2026 Australian Masters Rowing Championships (27-30 May 2026).
Perth clubs list their available boats for rent, and visiting rowers can browse, compare, and book boats for their race events. This eliminates the need to transport your own equipment across the country.
How to Book a Boat
Select an Event
Browse the event list and find the race you want to compete in. Events are organized by date, boat class, and age category.
Choose an Available Boat
View boats that are available for your selected event. You can filter by boat type, club, and price. Each listing shows boat specifications and rental terms.
Enter Your Details
Provide the required information including your contact details, home club, and any promo codes you may have. Your home club may qualify for special discounts.
Complete Your Booking
Review your booking summary and confirm. You will receive an email confirmation with all the details you need for race day.
Booking Holds and Expiry
When you start the booking process, the boat is temporarily held for you.
Hold Duration: 15 minutes
Once you select a boat, you have 15 minutes to complete your booking. This prevents others from booking the same boat while you fill in your details.
What happens if my hold expires?
- The boat becomes available for others to book
- Your incomplete booking is automatically cancelled
- You can start a new booking if the boat is still available
Tips for completing your booking:
- Have your crew details ready before starting
- Know your home club name for potential discounts
- Keep any promo codes handy
Pricing and Discounts
Each Perth club sets their own rental prices. Discounts may be available based on your home club affiliation or promotional codes.
Club-to-Club Discounts
Perth clubs may offer special rates to rowers from affiliated interstate clubs. These discounts are automatically applied when you enter your home club.
Promotional Codes
Some clubs distribute promo codes for special offers. Enter your code during checkout to receive the discount.
Only One Discount Applies
If you qualify for both a club-to-club discount and a promo code, the system automatically applies whichever gives you the better price. Discounts cannot be stacked.
The final price shown at checkout includes any applicable discounts. This price is locked in when you confirm your booking.
Boat Availability Rules
Boats have specific availability windows based on race schedules. This ensures boats are ready when you need them and allows time for handover between users.
Blocked Time Windows
Each race creates a blocked window where the boat cannot be booked for other events:
- 60 minutes before the race start time
- 30 minutes after the race start time
This buffer ensures you have time to prepare before your race and return the boat afterward.
If a boat shows as unavailable for your event, it may be due to a time conflict with another booking. Try selecting a different boat or check if your event timing works with available options.
Cancellation Policy
Each Perth club sets their own cancellation deadline. You can cancel your booking before this deadline without penalty.
How to Cancel a Booking
- Go to "My Bookings" from the sidebar menu
- Find the booking you want to cancel
- Click on the booking to view details
- Select "Cancel Booking" and confirm
Important
Check the cancellation deadline shown on your booking confirmation. Each club may have different deadlines. Contact the club directly if you need to cancel after the deadline has passed.
Cancelled bookings release the boat back to availability so others can book it.
Embargo Period
Perth clubs may set an embargo period during which their boats are only available to their own club members for internal use.
What This Means
- Before the embargo date: Only club members can book their own club's boats
- After the embargo date: Boats become available for public booking
If you cannot see boats from a particular club, they may still be under embargo. Check back after the embargo lifts, or contact the club directly.
Frequently Asked Questions
Can I book the same boat for multiple events?
Yes, as long as the race times do not conflict. The system automatically checks for availability based on the blocked time windows around each race.
What if I need to change my booking?
Currently, you need to cancel your existing booking and create a new one. Make sure to cancel before the deadline to avoid any issues.
How do I know if my home club has a discount arrangement?
Enter your home club name when booking. If a discount arrangement exists with the boat's club, it will be automatically applied and shown in the price summary.
Where do I pick up the boat?
Boats are typically collected at the regatta venue (Champion Lakes). Specific pickup instructions will be included in your booking confirmation email.
Who do I contact if I have problems?
For booking or system issues, contact the Rowing WA at Secretary@rowingwa.asn.au. For boat-specific questions, contact the lending club directly.
